Our WDFL premier team played their second game of the week when they made the short journey to Ballinalea Park to take on Ashford Rovers. The management decided to utilise their squad to give game time to players. It didn't start well when ten minutes in, a defensive error let Ashford in for an early lead. The home team doubled their lead to go in at the break 2-0 up despite Wicklow having the lions share of possession. It was a similar pattern in the second half with the Rovers of Wicklow having the majority of possession but they couldn't make it count. On the hour mark the lads pulled one back when Jensen O'Connor Cox reacted quickest from a Riain Sweetman free kick that wasn't held by the keeper with Jensen on hand to fire home. Wicklow put the pressure on in search of an equaliser but Ashford held firm.
