Our under 18 girls played their first game since the Christmas break and they restarted with a fine 4-0 win against Terenure Rangers at Whitegates this morning. It was a slow start from both sides as both teams found their feet again after the winter break. It was a cagey affair for the first thirty minutes with both defences performing well. Wicklow broke the deadlock with a goal from Molly Sweeney and this was swiftly followed by two more to give her a hat-trick. The second half started brightly for Rovers and Molly Sweeney fired home her fourth of the game to cap a fine individual scoring feat. Captain Katie Marah ran her socks off in midfield along side Rachel Byrne and Aoife Caffery. Terenure came back strong in the final ten minutes looking for a consolation but the Rovers defence managed to keep them at bay leaving the final score 4-0 to the green and whites.
