Our under 18 girls played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against Balbriggan at Whitegates this morning. It was a tight game but Rovers took the lead through Sofia Muñoz following a fantastic assist from Sarah Flood. Rovers quickly suffered a series of injuries as it was quiet a physical game and Balbriggan managed to get two goals back to go in at half time as 2-1 leaders. A series of fantastic saves in the second half from Abi Smith kept Rovers in the game. Midway through the second half Rovers got the equaliser from top goal scorer Molly Sweeney. Rovers battled hard for the winner but in the end had to settle for the draw and a share of the spoils. A great team effort again today from all the girls.
