Our under 13's returned to winning ways today after a few weeks without a match. Down to the bare bones because of injuries the 12 lads got stuck in from the start. Unfortunately, within two minutes Ronan Phelan had to go off injured, Darren Coffey has all the lads drilled to take over multiple positions and Nathan Gough jumped straight in. With a makeshift backline of Cathal Cannon who worked tirelessly, Captain Luke Finnigan super confident and dependable, Oisin Conlon who shone with some fabulous interplay and Cillian Czwalina who as we all know now is so quick and reliable, the lads knew they had to be strong, but they rose to the challenge and were rock solid. Saying that having a keeper as good and confident as Conor Martin behind you makes that job a bit easier!

The centre midfield of the always bright Shane O'Reilly and the tiger that is Sean Patrick Guerin utterly bossing the line. Out wide Nathan and Josh McCall were always willing runners and never stopped tracking. Some of their trickery was a joy to watch. The lads have been working hard in training and it showed.

Our first goal was from brilliant play down the wings, driving in on the Newtown defenders. Naoise Delaney starting the scoring. Up next, Sam Behan got his customary goal with a beautifully taken strike from the edge of the box giving the keeper no chance. Naoise and the team then went goal mad with themselves and put on a display of the football they are renowned for. Another three goals for Naoise and a great 5-0 win.

Thanks To Daniel Coffey, David Johnston, And Jack Healy for coming out to support their teammates. Also to all the mums and dads who give up their Sunday mornings to support the lads, a huge thank you!
