Our Leinster Senior side recorded their first win and in style as well. It was an away tussle with inform Rosemount Mulvey and the lads came home with all three points in an impressive display. Rovers went close after a minute when Sam Brown grazed the post. Four minutes later a Sam Brown cross was headed wide by David O'Connor. The home side were first to strike and it was a spectacular effort which found the back of the Rovers net to give Rosemount the lead after twenty minutes. On thirty five minutes Rovers hit back when Davy Rowan got on the end of a Dylan Orr cross to power home the equaliser. Rovers had their tails up at this stage and just before the break they were awarded a penalty after quick thinking from David O'Connor with a quick throw in set Orr away and then bundled over in the area, up stepped David O'Connor to coolly dispatch the ball to the back of the net to send Rovers in 2-1 up at the break. The second half saw the home team pile the pressure on Rovers but the rearguard of Davy Rowan, Mikey Delaney, Dylan Orr and Rikki Quinn stood firm. Sam Brown was causing untold problems for the home defence and was an excellent outlet for Rovers to take the pressure off. With time running out Rovers put the game to bed to ensure all three points were winging their way back to Whitegates. Dylan Orr surged into the box, rounded the keeper and slotted home number three. It was a welcome three points with man of the match going to Sam Brown. The Rovers rearguard of Davy Rowan, Mikey Delaney, Dylan Orr and Rikki Quinn were excellent throughout in what was a good all round team performance.
