Wicklow Rovers U15s continued their impressive cup run yesterday, securing a hard-fought 3-1 victory against a tough Shillelagh team in the Premier Division Cup semi-final at Whitegates. This marked the third time these two sides have met in recent games.
Rovers' goals came from Dan Connolly, who scored the opener, and David McCormack, who secured a brace with two well-taken finishes.
The entire team put in a tremendous effort to break down a resilient Shillelagh side. There were many strong performances across the pitch, but Seb Phelan at left-back was particularly outstanding. Having joined the team this year, Seb has consistently performed brilliantly in his role, and he deservedly earned the Man of the Match award for his excellent display.
