The under 12C team had a very good win against Glencormac United away in the cup quarter final tonight. After a very bright start, Rovers were on top from the first whistle, creating plenty of chances only to find the Glencormac keeper in good form. Eventually with 20 minutes gone Rovers finally got the goal they deserved with great play on the wing from the inform Bella Connolly supplying a lovely pass to Greg Rourke who made no mistake from close range to keep his good run going with two goals in his last two games. With Rovers backline on top and goalkeeper Davey Driver rarely called upon it was a well deserved lead to take in at half time. Again Rovers came out quick in the second half and could have been more in front and eventually Rovers got their second with a long ball over the top from Charlie Gill finding Billy Nolan who set up Aaron Foley for his second goal in his last two games also. Pressure continued from Rovers with Brook Montgomery hitting the crossbar and Tomas Cunha denied in a 1 v 1 with the keeper. Glencormac got their consolation they deserved for working very hard throughout in what was a very good cup tie. We'd like to thank Glencormac again for a very sporting game and wish them all the best for the rest of the season. Big well done to our squad working really hard and showing great attitudes throughout 👍⚽️
